History comes to life!

Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown welcomes over 100,000 visitors to the oldest continuously occupied military site in North America. Its picturesque French castle on the shores of the mouth of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario dates back to the 18th century.

The Great Outdoors

Falkner Park is located in downtown Youngstown. The playground and splashpad keep Youngstown kids playing happily. On summer Fridays, free concerts are held outdoors at 7 pm. Bring your own lawn chairs.

Porter on the Lake is located on the shores of Lake Ontario, just east of Youngstown. Kids can enjoy the playground, and shelters can be reserved through the Town of Porter.

Fort Niagara State Park surrounds Old Fort Niagara. This park is a joy to walk in, surrounded by handsome old trees and its views of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario! For families, there is a sledding hill, swimming pools, playgrounds, nature activities, and more. Shelters can be reserved through New York State.

Get to the Water!

Youngstown Village Dock is on the Niagara River between Niagara Jet Adventures and the Youngstown Yacht Club. It's a great place to put in your canoe or kayak!

Fort Niagara State Park is on the Niagara River close to Lake Ontario. It has two boat launches that are easily accessible for larger boats. Parking is available for trailers.

Art & Music

Artpark is located in Lewiston. Its concert schedule runs all summer, bringing thousands of visitors to the area of world-famous music and theater experiences.

Castellani Art Museum is a part of Niagara University. Their art collection is well worth the visit!

Learn About the World

Niagara Power Vista is an interactive and educational look behind the major hydroelectric plant that is powered by the force of the Niagara River. Great for a family visit, admission and parking are totally free.

Town of Porter Historical Museum is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2-4 pm. It is located in the Youngstown Village Center. Explore a classroom from the 19th century and treasures from Youngstown's history donated by locals. Talk to local curators about your family history or the history of your house!

Webcams

Old Fort Niagara Lighthouse & Webcam is at the gates of Old Fort Niagara. The lighthouse is open for self-guided tours in the summer and fall from noon to 3 pm. But you can watch the view of the beautiful Niagara River all year!

Yacht Club Webcam is located at the Youngstown Yacht Club on the banks of the Niagara River. They offer a full menu of services to members. They even offer a Junior Sailing Camp to local children and teens every summer!

Freedom Crossing Monument & Webcam is located in Lewiston on the banks of the Niagara River. It honors the courage of fugitive slaves who sought a new life of freedom in Canada, and to the local volunteers who protected and helped them on their journey across the Niagara River. Its sculptor, Susan Geissler, works out of her studio in downdown Youngstown.
