“It is our willingness to take on important issues, and help our communities find solutions, that ensures that libraries will always be an integral part of our communities.” Barbara Stripling, past President of the New York Library Association

Every Library Board Trustee makes a personal commitment to contribute time and energy to carry out our duties, which include regular attendance at meetings, adopting the Library budget, adopting and revising policies as needed, planning and evaluating the Library’s program and securing adequate funding.

As a Trustee with the Youngstown Free Library, you will become a well-informed champion of our Library and visibly support efforts as we re-imagine and re-brand our Library as a vital community gathering place and resource in the digital era.

Becoming a Trustee is a serious commitment of time and energy. You will have to learn new tech skills and embrace rigorous standards of quality. For more information about the responsibilities of a Trustee, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee or read through the application below.
