Library Programs for Adults

For a little library, we are very busy!

From book clubs to movies, lectures to tech help, the Youngstown Free Library welcomes everyone to try something new and connect with your friends and neighbors!

Book Clubs


Evening Book Club meets the second Wednesday of every month at 7 PM via Zoom this winter. Books are chosen by its members, and everyone is welcome to join anytime! Just call or email the Library and let us know that you'd like to be added to the monthly Zoom invitation. This friendly group reads all over the Library, from fiction to non-fiction, and from classics to biographies.
When you are ready to read, you can request the book title you'd like here. Please plan to request your book(s) 1-2 weeks before you plan to start reading.

Afternoon Book Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 1:30 PM at the Lewiston Senior Center. Books are chosen by its members, and everyone is welcome to join anytime! This group loves to read historical fiction and non-fiction, and sometimes we have freshly baked pie at meetings!
When you are ready to read, you can request the book title you'd like here. Please plan to request your book(s) 1-2 weeks before you plan to start reading.

Movie Club


Movie Club meets the fourth Monday of every month at 1:30 PM at the Lewiston Senior Center. Watch the movie in advance, then meet with others to chat about the film. Everyone is welcome to join anytime! No registration needed.
If you have questions about how to watch the movie, please call the Library at 716-745-3555. We are happy to teach you how to use your library card to stream the movie for free!

Tech Help


Discover & Explore Your Digital Library meets the first Saturday of every month at 10:30 AM at the Youngstown Free Library. Welcome back to your local library, and how it's evolved to help YOU! Learn how to use your digital library to stream and/or download e-books, audiobooks, graphic novels, music, magazines, TV, and movies.
Bring your tablet, smartphone, or laptop and prepare to spend an hour or so getting your accounts set up and your questions answered. No registration needed.

Basic Tech Help meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at 1 pm at the Lewiston Senior Center. Looking for a relaxed, no-stress and no-pressure environment to learn about technology? Come join us! Bring your smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer, and get your tech questions answered! No registration needed.
- We are unable to offer these classes in person at the present time.

One-on-One Tech Help is available by appointment only. Our Librarian and tech volunteers have limited availability on Wednesday afternoons to sit down with folks to answer their computer, phone, and tablet questions in a quiet, confidential appointment.
