Library Programs for Children & Teens

For a little library, we are very busy!

From infants to teens, the Youngstown Free Library has programs for all ages. We welcome everyone to try something new and connect with your friends and neighbors!

For Ages 0-24 Months


Short & Sweet for Babies meets the second and fourth Saturdays of every month at 11 am at the Youngstown Free Library. Here’s a short weekend storytime packed with music and play to build your baby’s pre-literacy skills and have fun with you! No registration required.
Due to the pandemic, we are unable to offer these classes in person at the present time.

For Ages 2-5


Town of Porter Story Hour Join the Town of Porter's weekly Story Hour from Home, perfect for toddlers and preschoolers! Every week, we post a new video to our Youtube channel of our storytime program. This fall, we're traveling around the world and learning about a different place every week!
Every week via video, we'll read together and do a craft while having fun! You can pick up the craft kits (for every week, including previous weeks!) at our curbside pick-up from 4-6 PM on Mondays through Thursdays. No registration required.

- Week 3: New Zealand: Hedgehogs in Autumn

For Ages 3+


Saturday Story Hour with Builders Club meets one Saturday a month at 11 am at the Youngstown Free Library. Lew-Port's Builders Club students are helpers in the community, and every month they host a storytime and craft program for children at the Youngstown Free Library!
Preschool and elementary school-aged children and caregivers: come for stories, crafts, snacks and a chance to meet the helpers! No registration needed.
Due to the pandemic, we are unable to offer these classes in person at the present time.


LEGO Club meets every Thursday at 4 pm at the Youngstown Free Library. Join us for a LEGO afternoon every Thursday; children can build the wild vehicles, buildings and creatures in their imaginations. No registration required.
